About Relative Roots Genealogy
Relative Roots Genealogy provides professional, evidence-based genealogy research for individuals and families seeking clear, reliable answers about their family history. My work emphasizes careful documentation, transparent research methods, and practical guidance—helping clients move forward with confidence at any stage of their family history journey.
Our Story
Relative Roots Genealogy was founded to provide thoughtful, methodical family history research for people who want answers they can trust. Many clients come with partial information, conflicting records, or long-standing questions. My role is to bring structure, clarity, and evidence to those questions, using reliable sources and careful analysis rather than assumptions.

My work is shaped by a strong Canadian research focus and a personal connection to Métis history. This background brings a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural, and documentary context in which Métis families lived, moved, and were recorded. When assisting with Métis ancestry research, I approach the work with care, respect, and a clear understanding of the records and evidence required, recognizing both their historical complexity and their contemporary significance. This perspective informs how records are interpreted, how gaps are assessed, and how conclusions are framed.
Experience Matters
With over a decade of hands-on experience working with historical records and family history research, I have assisted clients across Canada in navigating complex genealogical challenges. My work often involves interpreting incomplete records, reconciling conflicting evidence, and clearly explaining findings so clients understand both the conclusions and their limitations.
Patient, practical guidance through every step of the research process.
Professional Standards and Experience
I follow recognized professional genealogical standards, emphasizing thorough research, careful source evaluation, and clear documentation.
