There is no obligation to proceed and no genealogy knowledge required. Whether you have been researching for years or are starting from nothing, the call is a chance to talk through your goals and decide together whether a research project makes sense, and which one.

    What you would like to find, and the family story so far.
  • Records that may be relevant
    A practical sense of which archives are likely to help, and which are unlikely to.
  • Initial questions
    Any specific concerns: a citizenship deadline, an unexpected DNA match, a relative whose health limits the timeline.
  • What a project would involve
    If we decide a research project makes sense, we discuss scope, fee, and timing during the call.

If a research project is not the right move for you, the call ends with a clear sense of what is, even if that is no project at all.

I have been researching family history for over 25 years. I do not put a person or a fact into a tree without a record behind it.
